Our client, an established supplement ingredient manufacturer is seeking a new leader of VP of International Business Development to lead the sales, development, and maintenance of long-term relationships with large international supplement account assignments, connecting with all stakeholders, from key decision makers to technical quality assurance and logistics personnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison between customers and the internal support team at the organization, with the objective to ensure timely and successful delivery of product according to customer needs.
  • Achieve sales budget goals set as per the management team
  • Profitably manage sales of products. Meet volume, sales, and profitability targets in the territory
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction ratings to meet company standards.
  • Maintain sales planning tools and communications in a timely fashion: forecasting, orders, weekly/monthly reports, project management as required by management. Develop new customers as outlined in company targets.
  • Build and manage an opportunity pipeline to support territory growth targets.
  • Good working relationship with internal colleagues: management, customer service, sales team, technical, QA and production planners.
  • Market products; identify or develop appropriate product, pricing and logistics for each customer. Maintain files on customers, trade shows, reports, etc. in CRM as required by management trip reports, specifications, supply agreements, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the food, beverage and nutritional supplement markets and the competitive environment to facilitate business development and to keep other team members informed of changes and developments in the market.
  • Manage customer relationships, coordinate contracts, negotiations, quotes, orders, forecasts, technical issues, projects, logistics with internal personnel.
  • Develop new customers and maintain potential customer relationships according to company targets and objectives.
  • Plan strategic account management.
  • Understand local food safety regulations.
  • Participate in creating annual sales goals, market strategy and sales plan.
  • Involved in more in-depth sales with strong technical knowledge base

Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Business or related field
  • Must have prior proven experience in the nutritional supplement industry
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Excellent oral and written interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and handle multiple projects simultaneously; communicate, present and influence effectively, to meet customer needs and employer objectives
  • 5+ years sales experience in large scale supplement ingredient sales and/or business development, especially related to food, beverage, and nutritional supplement companies.
  • Deep understanding of, and established network contacts in Ingredients, Supplements, Pharmaceutical and/or Biotech industries
  • Have successfully worked with clients in Europe, Canada, and/or Brazil
  • Bonus: Speak French and/or Brazilian Portuguese


Compensation: $180,000 + Commission
