About the Role
The HR Generalist/Payroll Specialist will utilize a third-party HR and payroll platform to:
  • Administer human resources and payroll policies, procedures, and workflows
  • Collect and maintain data related to compensation, benefits, training, and recruitment
  • Perform clerical duties related to the Company’s employee payroll
The HR Generalist/Payroll Specialist will work closely with the internal leadership teams (across all offices) as well as external specialists to ensure our processes and procedures meet applicable guidelines, serving as a back-office business partner for all functional departments.
The role will include opportunities to reinforce relationships between field employees and leadership by encouraging a culture that promotes job satisfaction, respect, responsibility, integrity, and value for all our employees, clients, customers, and other stakeholders.

Detailed Responsibilities
  • Coordination with our third-party platform representatives to assist with drafting and implementing new HR policies, communicating improvement suggestions to the leadership team
  • Managing the correct and timely completion of new hire onboarding paperwork including but not limited to:
    • New hire orientation
    • Scheduling safety training through 3rd party companies
    • I-9 and E-Verify
    • All internal forms
  • Drug test scheduling and administration
  • Background check and MVRs administration including but not limited to
    • Submitting requests for information
    • Final review
  • Maintaining various internal personnel tracking documents including but not limited to
    • Working with IT to create Gmail accounts for new hires
    • Updating directory, accounts and groups as needed
    • Maintaining employee hours worked
  • Managing hiring initiatives and separation activities for all open positions, including but not limited to
    • Posting, reviewing, and pre-screening applicants for all listings
    • Coordinating with hiring managers to schedule interviews and achieve hiring targets
    • Preparing and sending offer letters to prospective new hires
    • Documenting policy violations and job duty gaps
  • Processing bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried staff
  • Reconciling payroll accounts in conjunction with the accounting and finance department
  • Maintaining all payroll records within the Company’s system of record
  • Other HR and payroll related duties may be required as necessary
Requirements
  • 1-3 years working in HR and payroll, including strong familiarity with HR basics and best practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, HR or related field of study required.
  • Oil and gas industry experience (preferred).
  • Self-motivated, with high attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and comfortable with the use of technology
  • Personality necessary to engage and develop a good working relationship with all employees
  • Record of responsibility and integrity in prior positions
  • Eagerness to learn new things
  • Ability to perform research as needed
