HR Generalist,

Reporting to Human Resources Director or Americas, the HR Generalist will be responsible for supporting a broad range of human resources processes and systems that support our people and culture for Kovalus.

Responsibilities:

  • Support day-to-day tasks to completion. These tasks can be administrative, tactical, and strategic in nature.
  • HR office management of supplies, bulletin boards, files, etc.
  • Support VP and Director or HR on sending out company-wide notices.
  • Local administrative support for talent recruiting
  • Become a high-end user of all HR-related systems, (Visibility, ADP WFN, etc.)
  • Champion the onboarding process for both temp and direct hires with an emphasis on ensuring a positive onboarding experience.
  • Ability to learn, interpret and maintain HR policies and procedures and eventually become a subject matter expert.
  • Be a visible and flexible member of the HR team for employees.
  • Promote a positive work environment and fostering healthy relationships among team members.
  • Support the maintaining of compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Familiarize themselves with the Kovalus leave programs and gather data to support the processing of applicable claims.
  • Creating onboarding plans and educating newly hired employees and managers on HR policies, internal procedures, and regulations
  • Maintaining physical and digital files for employees and their documents, benefits, and attendance records.
  • Maintain the record retention program for the HR files.
  • Partner with HR business partners for performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity across the organization.
  • Handle confidential matters with tact, professionalism and know when to escalate situations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years or more experience in human resources executing payroll, benefits, employee relations and employee development.
  • Must have strong organizational skills as well as being process and detail oriented.
  • Ability to leverage data for insights to improve decision-making.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) would put you ahead.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proactive, positive, professional, and self-motivated is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills while working well under pressure.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and in proximity to loud equipment.
  • Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able sit for longer periods of time as well as move about throughout the office and machine shop environment.
  • Must be able to see and respond to dangerous situations.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective gear when touring the production floor.
