Responsibilities
This role encompasses a variety of Human Resource Generalist functions at Berry Global, Inc.
The ideal candidate will support organizational initiatives across all HR domains, including employee relations, organizational development, communication, payroll, compensation and benefits, training, team learning and development, succession planning, retention, and staffing.
In collaboration with site HR leadership, deliver proactive HR support and execution for all business initiatives, covering staffing, the hiring process, compensation and benefits, training and development, records management, employee relations, and retention.
Enhance manager and employee performance by identifying improvement opportunities, assessing and implementing solutions, and providing coaching and guidance.
Oversee the onboarding process for new hires, manage the 90-day onboarding experience, gather team member feedback, and develop strategies to ensure retention.
Maintain, update, and ensure the accuracy of information within the Human Resources and Payroll Information Systems (HRIS).
Manage and monitor all leaves of absence and attendance.
Stay current with job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and participating in professional organizations.
Demonstrate proficiency in various HR-related software, including Bswift (Benefit Administration), HRIS (Infinium), Timekeeping (KRONOS), Employee Career and Performance Planning (myCareer), and Learning/Team Development modules (myDevelopment & GDC).
Assist with organizational development and expansion initiatives.
Manage the Berry Employee Communication System (BTV) for the production facility and remote warehouses.
Collaborate with temporary staffing agencies to fulfill open positions and evaluate potential new partners to meet plant and customer needs.
Support Berry Team transfers to different locations for career advancement or relocation needs.
Enhance employee engagement through key metrics, incentives, service awards, engagement events, and communication.
Process payroll, employee withholdings, and garnishments on a bi-weekly basis.
Monitor and report key performance indicators (retention, attrition, etc.), analyze trends, and recommend improvements.
Research and provide insights on HR products and processes to enhance efficiency and improve established practices.
Actively coordinate employee activities and support site initiatives to foster an engaged workforce.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or three to five years of relevant Human Resources experience preferred.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational abilities with a proven track record of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
In-depth knowledge of Federal and State employment laws is essential, along with the ability to apply this knowledge effectively.
Proven skills:
Performance Management, Training Management, Conflict Resolution.
Ability to meet deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Prior experience in payroll processing is highly desirable.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with talent acquisition systems is required.
Experience in a manufacturing environment and understanding the demands of a continuous operation is beneficial.
Willingness to engage with night shift team members regularly.
