Job Overview

Position: HR Generalist

As a vital member of Kovalus Separation Solutions LLC, the HR Generalist will report directly to the Human Resources Director for the Americas. This role encompasses a diverse array of human resources functions and systems that are essential in nurturing our organizational culture and supporting our workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operational tasks to ensure completion, which may include administrative, tactical, and strategic activities.
  • Manage HR office supplies, bulletin boards, and filing systems.
  • Assist the VP and Director of HR in disseminating company-wide communications.
  • Provide local administrative support for talent acquisition efforts.
  • Become proficient in HR-related systems, including Visibility and ADP WFN.
  • Lead the onboarding process for both temporary and permanent hires, focusing on delivering a positive onboarding experience.
  • Learn, interpret, and uphold HR policies and procedures, aiming to become a subject matter expert.
  • Act as a visible and adaptable member of the HR team, fostering employee engagement.
  • Encourage a positive workplace atmosphere and cultivate healthy relationships among colleagues.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Gain familiarity with Kovalus leave programs and assist in processing relevant claims.
  • Develop onboarding plans and provide education to new hires and managers regarding HR policies and internal procedures.
  • Maintain both physical and digital employee records, including documents, benefits, and attendance.
  • Administer the record retention program for HR files.
  • Collaborate with HR business partners to enhance the performance review process, ensuring effectiveness and fairness across the organization.
  • Handle sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism, knowing when to escalate issues.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience in human resources, particularly in payroll, benefits, employee relations, and development.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and process orientation.
  • Ability to utilize data to derive insights that inform decision-making.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish) are advantageous.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Proactive, positive, and self-motivated attitude is essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly under pressure.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capability to ascend and descend ladders and stairs, and work near loud machinery.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Capacity to sit for extended periods and move throughout the office and production areas.
  • Ability to observe and respond to hazardous situations.
  • Willingness to wear personal protective equipment when necessary.
