One of our clients in the leather industry is seeking a Leather Process Supervisor to join their team in Texas.
Location: Texas - United States
Schedule: 12 hours a day, night shift, weekends.
Permanent position.

Responsibilities:
  • Direct and oversee daily operations to achieve safety, quality, and production goals as directed by management.
  • Ensure production targets are met and exceeded, including turnover and chemical inventory management.
  • Minimize downtime through effective engineering controls and regular maintenance checks.
  • Enhance employee safety by identifying hazards and implementing solutions, conducting daily safety checks and follow-ups.
  • Optimize cost efficiency by reducing chemical waste and ensuring accurate chemical measurements and usage.
  • Promote continuous improvement in operating processes and procedures, fostering team ownership and participation.
  • Manage employee timecards, vacation requests, and payroll accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, conducting regular equipment checks and safety training.
  • Support research and development efforts, participating in product and process development.
  • Approve process batches according to technical specifications and support customer issue resolution.
  • Train employees in operational procedures and ensure adherence to production standards.
  • Provide technical assistance to both internal and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to improve chemical product applications and achieve quality standards.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within the leather manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Experience with wet blue, at least for 2 years.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and chemical handling procedures.
  • Ability to manage production schedules and meet targets.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality control standards.
Additional Information:

  • Candidates must meet safety qualifications, including passing a pulmonary function test and complying with drug screening requirements.
