Job Description

 

Job Summary

The Sales Manager is responsible for soliciting, planning, and managing successful group and event dining to increase sales. Please note, while this position will be an onsite position, operating primarily out of LEVEL 8, it is a Houston Hospitality position.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Builds relationships with companies and individuals in order to maximize bookings.
  • Prepares all special event contracts, charges the necessary deposits, and ensures deposits and full payments are received by the required deadlines.
  • Attends BEO meetings to go over event details and guests expectations.
  • Attends monthly networking mixers.
  • Maintains strong relationships with concierges, past corporate groups, and organizations
  • Establishes, develops and maintains positive business relationships.
  • Evaluates guests’ complaints and responds promptly and appropriately.
  • Follows up with each client after the event has taken place to obtain feedback –then documents
  • comments for all future events.
  • Greets the client and introduces client to the Special Event Manager on duty.
  • Updates shared calendars with tentative and definite business.
  • Sets sales goals and actively works to achieve and exceed these goals.
  • Portrays a positive and professional attitude and appearance.
  • Understands the policies and procedures of the organization and adheres to the company standards outlined in the company handbook.
  • Possesses conversational knowledge of food and beverage items served at the establishment.
  • Ensures the well-being of all guests and co-workers by following the Company Safety Standards and maintaining compliance with the Department of Health and OSHAA.

Skills / Certifications Required

  • Must have 3-4 years sales experience.
  • Previous experience as a sales manager highly preferred.
  • A 4-year college degree is highly desirable.

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift and bend for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to bend and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Role may include job duties or tasks requiring repetitive motion.
  • Role may include exposure to hot kitchen elements or cleaning materials.
  • Must be able to work and remain focused in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with varying shifts days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
