Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

The Certified Radiologic Imaging Specialist must possess a solid understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. Accuracy in imaging techniques and radiation safety is essential. Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and assisting physicians during complex imaging procedures.
  • Administering contrast media in compliance with regulations.
  • Serving as the primary communication link between patients and medical staff.
  • Demonstrating sensitivity to patients' physical and emotional needs through effective communication and care.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of patient information to protect their rights.
  • Building and sustaining positive working relationships within the healthcare team.
  • Adhering to departmental policies and regulations.
  • Engaging in continuous education to enhance professional skills and patient care.

Key Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • ARRT certification or eligibility required.
  • Registry eligibility must be obtained within six months of hire; failure to do so may result in termination.
  • Preferred: One year of post-graduate experience.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification is mandatory.
  • Availability for full-time work on the specified schedule.
