Role Summary 

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager of Analysis to join their logistics team. The ideal candidate will oversee a small team of analysts and will be responsible for performing comprehensive transportation analysis with a strong emphasis on small parcel logistics. This role will involve conducting cost comparative analysis for various transportation scenarios, including location-based costs, mode costs, and other relevant factors. The Senior Manager will play a critical role in optimizing our transportation strategy to ensure cost efficiency and service excellence. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Leadership and Team Management: 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of transportation analysts 

  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment 

  • Manage team workload and ensure timely delivery of analysis and reports 

Transportation Analysis: 

  • Conduct detailed transportation analysis with a focus on small parcel shipping 

  • Analyze and compare transportation costs across different modes (e.g., air, ground, TL, LTL) and locations 

  • Develop and maintain transportation cost models and databases 

  • Evaluate transportation options to optimize cost, efficiency, and service levels 

Cost Comparative Analysis: 

  • Perform comprehensive cost comparative analysis for various transportation scenarios 

  • Assess location-based costs and their impact on overall transportation expenses 

  • Analyze mode costs and determine the most cost-effective transportation solutions 

  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on analysis 

Data Management and Reporting: 

  • Collect, manage, and analyze large datasets related to transportation and logistics 

  • Develop and present detailed reports, dashboards, and presentations to senior management 

  • Utilize advanced analytical tools and software to enhance analysis capabilities 

Strategic Planning: 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align transportation strategies with business goals 

  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the transportation network 

  • Support strategic initiatives and projects aimed at optimizing the transportation function 

Stakeholder Communication: 

  • Communicate analysis findings and recommendations to key stakeholders 

  • Liaise with external vendors and service providers to gather data and insights 

  • Represent the transportation analysis team in meetings and discussions 

Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field 

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in transportation analysis, logistics, or supply chain management 

  • Strong expertise in small parcel logistics and transportation cost analysis 

  • Proven experience in leading and managing a team of analysts 

  • Proficiency in analytical tools and software (e.g., Excel, Power BI, etc) 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail 

  • Strong communication and presentation skills 

  • Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally within the organization 

  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in transportation and logistics
