Senior Category Manager Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute category business plans to drive sales growth and profitability
  • Manage and analyze consumer, category, customer, and market data to identify market opportunities and create insights
  • Collaborate with sales teams and customers to develop and execute sales presentations and category reviews
  • Lead discussions and presentations to position products or ideas as solutions for customers and help build category management competencies within sales
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and stakeholders to drive business growth and profitability
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field and 8+ years of Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) experience in sales, marketing, category management, or trade marketing
  • Experience in a position of leadership to include team development and management or experience managing retailer categories
  • 5+ years of experience with syndicated data (IRI, Nielsen, etc.)
  • Demonstrated mastery of category management processes and quantifiable success as a category captain, validator, etc.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to prioritize projects and produce high-quality outputs
