Village Health Partners (now a part of Catalyst Physician Group) is a well-established primary care practice dedicated to providing comprehensive healthcare services to our community. We are currently seeking a Patient Access Specialist to handle inbound and outbound patient communications via online chats, text messaging, emails, faxes, and phones. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in utilizing advanced information technology to process these communications in a professional manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage online service accounts including Healow, ZocDoc, patient portal, and webchat
  • Appointment scheduling, demographic updates, routing messages appropriately
  • Manage email requests from proxy accounts
  • Troubleshoot portal issues
  • Verify and update patient insurance information
  • Empathize with and coach patients in navigating the healthcare system
  • Meet performance metrics and service level criteria
  • Identify special needs and take proper steps to ensure patient appointments are scheduled appropriately
  • Work well with a diverse group of professionals in a team environment
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in work processes and/or setting.
  • Follow all HIPAA and privacy rules while discussing sensitive health information with the patient or their authorized delegates.
  • Follow all clinical safety protocols and infection control procedures

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • 1-2 years related experience in a medical office or healthcare setting
  • Athena EMR experience a plus
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment utilizing advanced communication technologies
  • Experience in properly handling confidential and sensitive information; knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations
  • Must live within a 45 min commute from Plano, Frisco, McKinney
