PAY RANGE: $26.00 - $29.00 Hourly

The base pay offered will consider internal equity and may vary based on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other factors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Development Coordinator supports the Development team in various fundraising initiatives, including peer-to-peer fundraising and food drives. The position involves handling a large volume of phone calls and email correspondence and requires exceptional donor relations skills. The Development Coordinator will oversee donor relations and be able to confidently and diplomatically communicate the organization's needs and logistical capabilities to donors and volunteers.


WHAT YOU’LL DO


Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Fundraising Programs: Manage the Food Bank's P2P Programs by assisting with the creation of fundraising pages in the designated platform, providing troubleshooting, answering donor questions, and motivating fundraising teams. Develop strategies to increase revenue from the P2P Program. Collaborate with the MarComm team to oversee P2P landing page design in WordPress, maintaining an attractive and user-friendly page according to fundraising themes and opportunities. Cultivate relationships with and steward all P2P fundraisers, including potential high-dollar fundraisers (i.e., corporate brands, top creators/influencers, Esports Teams, etc.). Collaborate with the Annual Giving Manager on developing and deploying email communications for P2P Programs.


Traditional Food Drives: Coordinate traditional food drives, including overseeing food drive box orders and scheduling food drive pickups with the Operations team. Maintain supplies and inventory for physical food drives. Cultivate and steward food drive donors, including generating thank-you receipts for food drive donors. Develop strategies to transition food drive donors to P2P fundraisers. Generate monthly activity reports to track food drive progress and maintain effective and efficient departmental records.


Department Support: Provide support to the Development team, including assistance with mailings, processing invoices, and resource gathering for fundraising appeals. Provide excellent customer service and relationship management by responding promptly to a high volume of donor calls and emails, and interact with donors in a professional and donor-centric manner. Regularly update procedure documentation, record, track, and report on food drives and P2P campaigns, including providing Inventory Control with required orders and reports in a timely manner. Support all Food Bank events, including assisting in planning and coordinating all major food drives and P2P campaigns. Assist in generating organic content as needed for e-newsletters and social media posts. Support other projects and staff in any area of development as needed, including volunteer events, major donor events, and tours.



QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-3 years of Development and Fundraising experience highly preferred. College degree preferred.

  • Experience in a non-profit/development environment.

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

  • Experience with customer service.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office with strong skills in Excel and Word.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.

  • Able to handle multiple tasks and appropriately prioritize.

  • Self-starter who is able to take initiative and work with minimum supervision.

  • Ability to maintain excellent quantity and quality of work in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.

  • Proficiency in PC software applications, including PowerPoint, Raiser's Edge, Luminate Online, and Classy Peer-to-Peer Fundraising, is highly desirable

  • Valid CA Driver’s License and access to a reliable and insured vehicle. Required to travel within Los Angeles County. May be scheduled to work at either facility in Los Angeles, CA, or the City of Industry, CA

  • May need to commute between Food Bank facilities in Los Angeles, CA, or the City of Industry, CA
