Materiel Management Specialist III

About the Position: This is a leadership position within the Griffin Memorial Hospital (GMH) Warehouse. Responsible for the management, from acquisition to disposal, of all supplies and equipment used to support GMH.  These responsibilities include procurement, receipt, storage, control, issuance, inventory, and delivery of material.

The functions within this job family will vary by level, but may include the following:

  • Receives, issues, ships and arranges stock in proper location using machinery as needed.
  • Inspects items for conformance with specifications.
  • Confers with department heads, vendors, and outside agencies concerning purchases, deliveries, and acceptability of supplies.

Job Type/Salary:

  • Full-time
  • $15.14 hourly Annual Salary is $31,500 annually 
  • Primary Working Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Monday – Friday)
  • Posted 5/21/2024 until filled

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of three years of experience in stock handling, warehousing and inventory control; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Requirements:

  • Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill all job-related travel normally associated with this position.  Some positions may require performing moderately heavy lifting or other manual tasks.
  • Upon a conditional offer of employment, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services applicants must submit to a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of lifting/carrying 70 pounds occasionally, 25 pounds frequently and able to push and pull a maximum force of 40 pounds.

About us: Griffin Memorial Hospital (GMH) is located in Norman, Oklahoma, and serves all 77 counties in Oklahoma as a Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) treatment center for adults. Griffin Memorial Hospital is a 120-bed acute psychiatric hospital serving persons aged 18 and over with severe mental illness and provides in-patient hospital care for those in need of mental health & substance abuse services.
