Milwaukee, United States Spinnaker Solutions Full time $90 - $110
Job DescriptionJob Description

Title: Business / Process Analyst - Chemical Safety & Regulatory Focus
Location: Milwaukee / Chicago - Remote
Contract Duration: 12 - 18 months +
Rate: $90-110/hour 1099
Travel: 20% to 30%

Responsibilities:
As a Project/Process Analyst supporting the lead consultant on a critical project within the Chemical Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry, your role will focus on reimagining the client's raw material approval process from a Safety and Regulatory perspective. The project aims to shift from individual raw material reviews to creating broader specifications with wider tolerances, reducing the need for extensive safety reviews for each material. You will leverage your expertise in chemistry, process optimization, SAP PLM, and Spinnaker’s framework to support the lead consultant in redefining this process while considering upstream (R&D) and downstream (manufacturing) ramifications. Your key responsibilities include:

1. Process Redefinition: Assist in redefining the raw material approval process by developing broader material specifications and grouping materials to streamline safety and regulatory reviews. Ensure that specifications are correctly set up in SAP PLM.

2. Chemical Expertise Application: Utilize your understanding of chemical properties and regulatory requirements to evaluate the implications of broader material specifications on product safety, quality, and compliance.

3. Raw Material Grouping: Support the analysis and categorization of raw materials into groups with similar safety profiles, ensuring that new specifications meet regulatory standards and minimize risks.

4. Implication Analysis: Outline and understand the impact of changes at the raw material level on the creation of formulae. Prepare for the next phase of the project, which will focus on grouping/nesting formulae.

5. Process Modeling & Deliverable Creation: Use Visio for process modeling to visualize and document the redefined raw material approval process. Adopt Spinnaker’s framework to create key deliverables such as process models, activity dictionaries, business requirements, and technical requirements.

6. Data Collection and Analysis: Gather and analyze data related to raw material performance, safety, and regulatory compliance. Use this data to inform decision-making and support the development of new specifications.

7. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and regulatory affairs, to ensure the new process is integrated smoothly across the organization. Provide insights into the potential impacts of changes on both upstream and downstream processes.

8. Risk Management: Assist in identifying and mitigating risks associated with the transition to broader material specifications, including potential impacts on product safety, manufacturing efficiency, and compliance.

9. Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate findings, recommendations, and progress to the lead consultant and key stakeholders. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all project activities.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

· 10 to 12 years of experience in the Chemical or CPG industry, with a focus on product development, raw material safety, regulatory approvals, and process optimization.

· Proficiency in SAP PLM and understanding of how raw material specifications should be set up in the system.

· Experience in Lean Six Sigma or Six Sigma methodologies is a must, with practical experience in process improvement.

· Proficiency in Visio for process modeling and documentation purposes.

· Strong understanding of chemical properties, safety regulations, and the implications of broader material specifications on formula creation.

· Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or other relevant software.

· Ability to create presentations and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

· Detail-oriented and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
