Job Description


The main objective of the Chemical Process Specialist is to oversee internal operations for product manufacturing by defining and assessing the production processes aimed at enhancing quality, safety, and efficiency. This role involves creating, refining, and sustaining manufacturing Process Instructions (PI) as well as integrating salvage and rework strategies.

Key responsibilities for this position include (but are not limited to) the following:

1. Develop safety protocols for personnel operating machinery or working near active chemical reactions.

2. Diagnose issues within chemical manufacturing processes.


3. Assess chemical equipment and processes to discover optimization opportunities or ensure adherence to safety and environmental standards.

4. Conduct research to innovate and enhance chemical manufacturing methodologies.

5. Determine the most efficient arrangement of operations such as mixing, crushing, heat transfer, distillation, and drying.


6. Execute tests and monitor process performance throughout production stages to evaluate control over variables like temperature, density, specific gravity, and pressure.

7. Design and strategize the layout of equipment.

8. Prepare production cost estimates and progress reports for management.


9. Create measurement and control systems for chemical facilities based on data collected from laboratory experiments and pilot plant operations.

10. Develop methods to separate components of liquids or gases or generate electrical currents through controlled chemical processes.

Required Qualifications:

- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering with practical chemical experience.

- Strong process management skills along with excellent written and verbal communication abilities are essential, complemented by a high level of initiative.


- Proven leadership capabilities in project and personnel management within a continuous improvement framework, focusing on production, safety, quality, and Lean manufacturing principles.
