Job DescriptionJob Description

The Infrastructure Engineer will maintain operations of a multi-user computer systems, virtual computer systems, COTS software products and perform Network Administration and System Administration tasks within the scope of the contract.

The Infrastructure Engineer should be familiar with networking products that are leveraged for a virtualized networking infrastructure. Knowledge of advanced networking concepts and networking design best practices into how it fits into a software development environment is highly preferred.

The infrastructure team is responsible for monitoring and correcting system performance issues, applying network configurations and leading network design efforts. The Infrastructure Engineer will also provide on-the-job training on system configuration, assist in deploying software/hardware deliveries, support special projects, and assist users/teams in resolving system and network issues.

Job Details:

  • Investigate and manage the adoption of appropriate tools, techniques and processes (including automation) for the management of systems and services. Ensure that appropriate software or specialist monitoring tools are used to maintain awareness and control of the hardware and software.
  • Provide day to day maintenance of servers in a hybrid environment (Windows / Linux). This maintenance includes but not limited to admin support, patching and troubleshooting of the systems environments. Perform system and application upgrades as new major and minor releases become available.
  • Investigate and advise for procurement of hardware and/or services as needed to ensure adequate and performant infrastructure to build out a test environment consisting of network attached virtual machines.
  • Provide for adequate engineering such that a variety of environments can be realized on each of the virtual machines using the appropriate container and orchestration technologies.
  • Analyze cyber security vulnerability scan reports and remediate vulnerabilities.
  • Design, deploy, maintain, and administer organizational Active Directory with multiple sites and domains.
  • Design, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot organizational Group Policy Objects.
  • Plan, design, deploy, configure, and administer Windows Server operating system solutions.
  • Plan, design, install, deploy, maintain, and administer server and storage hardware solutions.
  • Plan, design, deploy, maintain, and administer virtual Windows servers, in VMWare, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Maintain and administer VMWare ESXi Server.
  • Administer Microsoft Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).
  • Perform engineering changes as required and respond to incidents and outage resolution requests promptly.

Basic Qualifications:

  • TS.SCI active and current
  • Experience as an Enterprise Architect Specializing in Active Directory services.
  • Experience in cloud technologies such as but not limited to Azure and AWS.
  • Experience designing mission critical infrastructure in enterprise environments.
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise solutions that increase the availability and security of the enterprise.
  • Experience with on premise physical infrastructure and Virtualization technologies including VMWare and VMWare Horizon
  • Experience with networking and security methods and tools.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure orchestration tools (Ansible, Terraform, PowerCLI, PowerShell, etc.)
  • Experience with managing and deploying patches with an Enterprise tool (i.e. Microsoft Windows Server Update Services (WSUS))
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills required.
  • Must have strong critical thinking, complex problem solving, appropriate judgment, and decision-making skills
  • Proven experience with managing and using Dev Ops concepts.
