THE POSITION
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Tax Accountant to join our accounting team in Florence, TX. This role involves assisting with preparing and filing tax returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations, and supporting the tax department in various accounting and financial tasks.


KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns: sales, property, ATF FET, etc.
  • Coordinate with external CPAs regarding all tax-related project management operations.
  • Review and verify tax forms for accuracy and completeness before submission.
  • Ensure all tax filings are in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Stay updated on current tax laws and regulations through training sessions and professional development opportunities.
  • Implement and oversee internal controls related to tax compliance.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of tax documents and related correspondence.

  • Conduct research on various tax issues and provide support on tax planning projects.
  • Support the Controller with audits, financial statement preparation, and other accounting duties.

  • Communicate with the management company and ownership group to gather necessary information for tax filings.
  • Respond to tax-related inquiries promptly and accurately.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification is required.
  • Familiarity with tax preparation software is advantageous.
  • The position is typically in an office setting with a standard 40-hour workweek.
