BHS Corrugated, North America, is seeking a Mechanical Field Service Supervisor to lead and guide our team of Mechanical Field Service Technicians (FSTs). This role is crucial in ensuring that our service visits are executed efficiently, with a focus on resolving customer issues swiftly and maintaining a high standard of service quality. You will be responsible for staying connected with technicians throughout their assignments, providing support to ensure successful job completion.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor Mechanical FSTs, helping them enhance their customer interaction skills and technical abilities. Encourage continuous learning and improvement within the team.
  2. Scheduling & Coordination: Work closely with the Mechanical Field Service Coordinator to strategically plan and schedule service tasks such as upgrades, installations, M2Ps, and warranty services. Manage and resolve any scheduling conflicts that arise.
  3. Communication & Escalation: Act as the communication bridge between the technicians, Field Service Manager, and customers. Proactively address potential escalation issues and collaborate to develop effective solutions.
  4. Safety & Compliance: Instill a strong safety-first mindset by enforcing strict adherence to safety protocols with both technicians and customers. Utilize insights from near-miss incidents to refine safety practices.
  5. Resource Optimization: Ensure that technicians are fully equipped with the necessary tools, PPE, software, and other resources needed for their tasks. Streamline reporting processes for efficiency and accuracy. Oversee recruitment processes including reviewing resumes, interviewing, negotiating job offers, and handling terminations. Conduct regular performance reviews.
  6. Training & Development: Drive the ongoing development of technicians by expanding their skills and knowledge, ensuring they meet the evolving demands of the field.
  7. Process Improvement: Continuously seek out and implement ways to improve service operations, enhancing both efficiency and quality.
  8. Cross-Department Collaboration: Foster seamless communication and cooperation with other departments such as Helpdesk, Engineering, and Spare Parts to ensure that customer needs are met and company goals are achieved.

Qualifications:

  1. Associate degree in a technical discipline or equivalent relevant experience is preferred.
  2. A minimum of five years of experience in a supervisory or lead role within maintenance or field service.
  3. Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills, with a strong ability to motivate and guide a team.
  4. Proven ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Strong communication skills for professional interactions with customers, team members, and upper management.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  7. Capable of working independently and taking initiative without direct supervision.
  8. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of the job.
