BHS Corrugated & Robotics is on the lookout for a Mechanical Field Service Supervisor to oversee and direct our team of Mechanical Field Service Technicians (FSTs). This pivotal role is essential for ensuring that our service engagements are conducted effectively, with an emphasis on swiftly addressing customer concerns and upholding superior service standards. You will maintain constant communication with technicians during their assignments, providing the necessary support to guarantee successful task execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Guidance: Inspire and guide Mechanical FSTs, assisting them in improving their customer service skills and technical expertise. Promote a culture of continuous learning and advancement within the team.
- Planning & Coordination: Collaborate closely with the Mechanical Field Service Coordinator to strategically organize and schedule service activities such as upgrades, installations, M2Ps, and warranty services. Address and resolve any scheduling conflicts that may arise.
- Communication & Issue Resolution: Serve as the communication link between technicians, the Field Service Manager, and clients. Proactively manage potential escalation scenarios and work together to devise effective solutions.
- Safety & Compliance: Foster a strong safety culture by enforcing strict adherence to safety regulations among both technicians and clients. Utilize insights from near-miss incidents to enhance safety protocols.
- Resource Management: Ensure that technicians are adequately equipped with the necessary tools, PPE, software, and resources for their assignments. Streamline reporting processes for efficiency and accuracy. Oversee recruitment activities, including resume evaluations, interviews, offer negotiations, and terminations. Conduct regular performance assessments.
- Training & Skill Development: Champion the ongoing development of technicians by broadening their skills and knowledge, ensuring they are equipped to meet the evolving demands of the industry.
- Operational Enhancement: Continuously identify and implement strategies to improve service operations, enhancing both efficiency and quality.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Promote effective communication and collaboration with other departments such as Helpdesk, Engineering, and Spare Parts to ensure customer needs are met and organizational objectives are achieved.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent relevant experience is preferred.
- A minimum of five years of experience in a supervisory or leadership position within maintenance or field service.
- Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities, with a strong ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Proven capacity to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication skills for professional interactions with clients, team members, and upper management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Able to work independently and take initiative without direct supervision.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all job aspects.
