Job Title/Position: RC Section 28 - Behavioral Health Professional (BHP)
Program: Behavioral Health Services
Pay rate: $18 - $20 per hour based on experience
Location: 256 Bartlett St, Lewiston ME
Job status: Full Time (8:00-5:00pm) Some evenings or weekends based on client availability.
Job Overview The Section 28 Rehabilitative and Community Support Services Behavioral Health Professional (RCS28 BHP) at Maine Immigrant & Refugee Services (MEIRS) provides in-home support for children with autism, Asperger’s, ADD/ADHD, cognitive disorders, and other developmental delays. The RCS28 BHP works directly with the child and their family to support them in retention of the daily living skills needed to be independent in their homes and communities. The RCS28 BHP works one-on-one with children and their families as essential members of the treatment team, helping them build daily living, social, communication and safety skills both at home and in the community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Work with clients and their families through direct behavioral interventions aimed to increase frequency of healthy and age appropriate daily/independent living skills.
- Develop hygiene, social, communication, and safety skills of each client.
- Follow a comprehensive and detailed treatment plan with goals specific to client needs.
- Focus on client behavioral management, increasing skills development and facilitating physical developmental activities.
- Must attend and be in compliance with trainings, job requirements and weekly supervisions.
- Must complete all progress notes and paperwork required as per BHS RCS28 BHP requirements in timely manner.
- Must be willing to work in client's home and within the local community.
- Be punctual and consistent with client appointments.
- Be aware of cultural humility as this job may require working with diverse population.
- Other duties assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:
- Must have a high school/GED diploma. Bachelors/Associate degree preferred but not required
- Experience in behavioral health/mental health fields preferred
- Clean driving records, clean criminal background and valid driver license and reliable transportation
- Must have 100k/300k vehicle liability insurance to transport clients
- Experience working with children
- Attend all required trainings
