Shoreline Christian School, located north of Seattle, is seeking a full time Athletic Director/K-8 PE teacher for the 2024-25 school year. This is a unique opportunity to help students develop physically, and to discover their unique talents. Description:

The Athletic Director holds immediate oversight responsibilities for the athletic program in consultation with the Head of School. The Director manages the personnel, budget, scheduling, and programmatic functions in collaboration with other staff and oversight from the Head of School. As a community with a shared state of faith, an active, intentional, and embodied Christian faith is essential. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check and all other state requirements for private schools.

 

Primary working relationships are with students, collaborating with the administrative  team, and working with AD staff from surrounding schools. 

 

 

AD Responsibilities:

  • To oversee and administer the SCS athletic program
  • To know, observe, explain, and implement the various school policies and WIAA regulations in a positive manner to parents and/or students;             
  • To represent the school at league, district, and state athletic meetings;
  • To know, implement, and suggest improvements to the school's athletic program;
  • To advise the Head of School or his/her designee of needed repairs and unsafe conditions of facilities;
  • To account for school athletic supplies and equipment and to work with the school's bookkeeper in developing and oversight of the athletic budget and extracurricular coaching salaries;
  • To maintain records of student eligibility and participation in accordance with school, league, and WIAA guidelines;
  • To work with school administration in staffing and evaluating coaches and coaching positions;
  • To facilitate communication between school and home regarding athletic contests and participation;
  • To implement the school's conduct policy;
  • To arrange for supervision of participants during practice and game activities;     
  • To hold and maintain a First Aid card;
  • To provide appropriate game staff at home and away games/matches;
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head of School
