Job Summary

The University of Washington's Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Associate Athletic Director for Sport Administration to oversee the day-to-day operations of assigned sports programs and administrative units. This key leadership role will provide strategic direction, supervision, and evaluation of personnel to ensure the successful operation of the programs in compliance with University, NCAA, and conference regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision: Direct and supervise the administrative operations for assigned sports programs, including assessing and evaluating personnel performance, monitoring financial and budgetary activities, and authorizing expenditures.
  • Program Oversight: Provide oversight and leadership to assigned sports programs, including camps, special events, and championships, ensuring compliance with University, NCAA, and conference regulations.
  • Human Resources: Recruit, hire, evaluate, and develop staff, including head coaches, assistant coaches, and support staff, to ensure the success of the programs.
  • Representation: Represent the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics on national, conference, and campus working groups, attending events and interacting with supporters, donors, and community groups.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Management, Business, Marketing, Communications, or Education/Sports Administration.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a highly successful Division I athletic department, with experience managing a budget and a complex unit of staff and volunteers.
  • Skills: Ability to represent the department professionally, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated commitment to the values of excellence, integrity, and student growth.
