Financial Reporting and Analysis
You will be responsible for:
- Preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under GAAP.
- Providing insightful, helpful analysis and commentary on financial performance to senior management.
- Ensuring timely and accurate reporting to internal stakeholders and external parties.
- Assisting in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Monitoring performance against budget and forecast, identifying variances, and implementing corrective actions.
Internal Controls and Compliance
Your duties include:
- Developing and maintaining internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.
- Coordinating with external auditors for annual audits and regulatory compliance reviews.
- Overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
- Designing, implementing, and monitoring financial controls for compliance with laws, regulations, and GAAP.
- Managing vendor relationships and negotiating favorable terms and agreements.
Payroll Management
In this capacity, you will:
- Oversee the payroll department to ensure accurate and timely employee payroll processing, including tax withholdings and benefits deductions.
- Lead and mentor the accounting and payroll staff, fostering their professional growth.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
Special Projects and Strategic Initiatives
You will also:
- Lead or participate in ad-hoc projects to improve financial processes and reporting capabilities.
- Provide financial analysis and support for strategic decision-making to senior staff and owners.
- Manage multiple projects, prioritizing effectively.
- Oversee and coordinate the optimization of our outsourced functions effectively and efficiently.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 4 years in a supervisory role.
- A strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in business systems, accounting software and MS Office Suite.
- Sound judgement and superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Effective oral and written communication skills with excellent interpersonal, relational, and coaching skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- A track record of high achievement and driving results is required. Self-reliant and results oriented.
- Client focused with a high level of professionalism that thrives in a cross-functional team and matrixed environment.
- Proven leadership ability and experience in team management, developing others, and facilitating change.
- Energetic, collaborative, and proactive leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical accounting and payroll initiatives.
