Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSummary and Purpose:

Working with the Vice President for Enrollment Management, this position provides leadership for effective strategic and operational planning and program development for adult and graduate students, financial aid as well as helping to streamline overall enrollment operations. The position provides institutional coordination between marketing and graduate and adult programs. The Associate Vice President for Financial Aid, Adult and Graduate Admissions provides leadership with integrating the CRM (Slate) into both undergraduate financial aid and graduate recruitment processes. They lead the financial aid team and are responsible for developing matrices and strategies to increase net tuition revenue as well as modeling and monitoring financial aid processes to help lower the discount rate while maximizing revenue. This position requires strong leadership, analytical and operational skills.


Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks/Essential Functions:

  • Provides leadership, strategies, guidance, support, and direct oversight of the offices of financial aid, adult and graduate recruitment including development of budgets and goals in each area.

  • Oversees the CRM work to integrate adult and graduate and financial aid programs seamlessly into operations. Assists with continuity for undergraduate admissions as well.

  • Makes data informed recommendations based on direct oversight of discount, net tuition revenue maximizing the overall college revenue.

  • Designs, executes and assesses a comprehensive annual recruitment plan for non-traditional and graduate students.

  • Leads all graduate recruitment strategies, marketing and personnel development.

  • Works with the Vice President of Enrollment Management to create innovative enrollment strategies and processes to sustain and grow the enrollment numbers at Aquinas College while maintaining mission integrity.

  • Oversees the work of the Director of Financial Aid to ensure accurate reconciliation, compliance, and financial aid reporting.

  • Leads the college on matters of financial aid leveraging and athletic discounting.

  • Collaborates with Institutional Advancement to award and steward endowed scholarships, ensuring seamless communication and coordination

  • Develops and monitors the budgets of areas of responsibility.

  • Develops the College’s tuition & discount revenue budgets.

  • Monitors progress with achieving the College’s net tuition revenue as compared to budget and gives regular status updates.

  • Ensures compliance with College policies and procedures in areas of responsibility.

  • Utilizes data-driven approaches to access enrollment trends, market demands and develops strategies to address opportunities in target areas.

  • Works with faculty in graduate and non-traditional programs to best design a system for marketing, attracting and enrolling students.

  • Serves on committees and councils as directed by the Vice President for Enrollment Management.

  • Performs other job duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills and Education Requirements
  • Master's Degree or equivalent required.
  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years experience in enrollment and financial aid. Experience with graduate and or non-tradtional programs preferred.
  • Knowledge of marketing and communications principles in assigned areas.
  • Must demonstrate an understanding of net tuition revenue, predictive modeling, and adult education.
  • Must demonstrate strong communication and relationship-building skills, analytical ability, and familiarity with current technology utilized in the development and execution of comprehensive marketing and recruitment plans.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
  • Must have strong analytical, strategic and critical thinking skills as well as the ability to lead and motivate teams.
  • Must be able to effectively present information to various groups of people (faculty, staff, donors, students, etc.).
  • Must demonstrate commitment to the College’s mission.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Must be able to function effectively in a busy environment with interruptions.

  • Constant use of computer and telephone.

  • Some occasional lifting (20-35 pounds)
