GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
This role is pivotal in fulfilling the College's dedication to creating a welcoming and accessible environment for a diverse student body. Financial Aid Consultants are tasked with guiding students through the various resources available to support their educational pursuits. This position demands a high level of independent judgment, initiative, organization, and problem-solving capabilities. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with faculty and staff to ensure students have the necessary resources to achieve their academic goals while also providing education and outreach.

- Create and deliver informative presentations on financial aid processes and regulations.
- May assist with Professional Judgment determinations regarding financial aid eligibility.
- Advise students on enrollment policies and procedures.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
- Provide exceptional customer service and represent the department positively.
- Demonstrate self-motivation with strong time-management and organizational skills.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with awareness of the audience.
- Commit to understanding diversity and building engagement strategies that welcome varied perspectives.
- Possess the ability to interpret complex financial aid situations and use independent judgment to assist students.

This position involves working in an office environment, requiring occasional standing, pushing, pulling, and grasping. Frequent activities include reaching and close visual work, while constant activities involve sitting, walking, repetitive motions, talking, and hearing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, or a related field
- One year of experience in financial aid
- One year of full-time experience in higher education
