Who is Solstice?
Climate change mitigation requires massive clean energy expansion, yet 77 percent of American households cannot install rooftop solar power due to rented housing, the structure of their rooftop, the upfront cost, or access to financing. Solstice connects households and community organizations to “community solar”—shared solar farms that are installed in a centralized location where local residents can enroll in a portion for free, without any home installations, and enjoy guaranteed savings on their monthly utility bill.
Solstice is an award-winning, mission-driven clean energy company working to put affordable, renewable energy in the hands of every household, including low-income populations and communities of color. The clean energy revolution is happening now; Solstice is working to ensure this transition is equitable and widespread by making it simpler and more affordable than ever for homeowners, businesses, and even renters to go solar.
Position Overview:
Solstice seeks an enterprising, self-starting individual to oversee the management of our rapidly expanding portfolio of Community Solar projects. You’ll work directly with the Business Development team to own and spearhead improvements in data integrity, billing, and reporting efforts.
You will manage relationships with developers and utility representatives and provide an excellent customer experience to our partners, maintain a working knowledge of utility regulations within our areas of work, and ensure project success. You’ll be directly responsible for all revenue reporting, bill cycle management, data analysis/management, and stakeholder coordination associated with assigned community solar assets.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with pertinent utilities with an objective of identifying regulatory requirements, receiving monthly credit application reports, submitting subscriber maintenance documents, and flagging asset performance issues.
- Work with the Asset Management Associate to delegate tasks and responsibilities to bill/invoice subscribers and produce accurate, timely, and robust revenue reporting to developer partners.
- Identify and implement process improvements aimed at enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and accessibility of information pertaining to subscriber acquisition/management across all Solstice platforms.
- Manage the internal relationship with the Customer Success team to ensure subscriber inquiries pertaining to allocation sizing, project timelines, and utility-related issues are being addressed.
- Manage the internal relationship with the Business Development team to ensure proper handoff of newly acquired projects
- Prepare and lead regular conversations with partnering solar developers to communicate information concerning projects under management, address issues, and provide an excellent client experience.
- Coordinate between Solstice departments (e.g. Platform, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Inclusion) to communicate asset management needs related to software development and identify new platform features that can be used to streamline recurring tasks and enhance visibility into project health.
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Highly proficient in Excel/Google Sheets (vlookup, sumif, pivot tables etc.) and CRM database management.
- At least 3 years of direct professional experience in data analytics or project management
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrated experience in presenting complex information and articulating key results to internal and external stakeholders in a productive manner.
- Experience managing relationships with outside vendors/partners
- Extraordinary attention to detail
- Creative, personable, enthusiastic, proactive, team-oriented
- Ability to delegate tasks, manage multiple projects and work streams and prioritize effectively
- A problem solver; excited to tackle both small and large challenges
- Enthusiastic, positive, and team-oriented
- Excited to work in a fast-paced, growing, scale-up environment
- Driven, gritty, and resilient; demonstrated ability to persevere through unanticipated challenges
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Salesforce analytics and reporting
- Strong interest in environmentalism, clean energy, and/or social equity
- Team lead experience
Benefits:
- Comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage
- Health and Dependent Care FSA
- 401k with matching
- Professional development annual stipend
- Gender-neutral paid parental leave policy
- Five weeks of PTO a year, including when we close the office for ~1.5 weeks in late December
- Flexible personal time to allow employees to run errands, go to doctor’s appointments, etc. without taking PTO
- Ability to work remotely from within the United States
As an Asset Management Coordinator, you will experience:
- Project management experience and experience articulating key project results to utility and developer stakeholders
- A deep understanding of the solar and renewable energy space, particularly the rapidly growing community solar industry
- Hands-on scale-up experience in cleantech
- Knowledge from and personal interaction with leadership
- The opportunity to work on two crucial issues that positively impact the world: climate change mitigation and social justice
- A team of passionate, collaborative, dedicated, and empathetic employees
About Solstice:
Solstice was founded to advance equity and inclusion in America. We are committed to living those values, not just in the work we do to promote environmental and energy justice but in how we grow as an organization.
