POSITION SUMMARY:

The Vendor Relations Manager is responsible for continuously evaluating and nurturing our strategic vendor relationships while ensuring that our business stakeholders consistently engage with all of our preferred vendors whenever feasible.

This role is responsible for managing the relationship of the vendors and coordinating numerous tasks and projects that will drive overall performance. The Manager will have direct accountability for service level performance, and partner with other vendor management areas to support their designated areas of responsibility.

This role requires business operational acumen to communicate effectively with both internal and external operational teams. The Manager is expected to evolve and improve vendor processes including but not limited to reviewing or recommending innovative solutions that will impact our clients and members, strategic planning, analysis of data, and overall operational performance of key deliverables.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key strategic vendors
  • Evaluate overall vendor performance, conducting regular vendor assessments, QBRs etc.
  • Work to resolve vendor disputes and/or other vendor related issues in a timely manner
  • Continuously assess and improve (as needed) all operational workflows, procurement processes etc. in order to ensure that the business is properly supported
  • Collaborate with Category Managers, Demand Planner and other cross-functional teams to develop and successfully implement procurement strategies; including the onboarding of new vendors and potentially the establishment of new vendor catalogs
  • Review all new vendor onboarding requests
  • Monitor and make sure that all teams are in compliance with our procurement policies
  • Monitor and report on procurement and vendor related KPIs; elevating risks or concerns to leadership.
  • REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement and vendor management, with a proven track record of success
  • Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPM, CPSM) is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of procurement best practices and vendor evaluation
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to sit/stand for 8 hours
  • Walking, bending, light lifting up to 50 lbs
