Kona Kai San Diego is a boutique unique resort located on Shelter Island. With 170 guestrooms, Kona Kai San Diego is home to Vessel Restaurant + Bar, SpaTerre, a marina and a private club, all located just minutes from downtown San Diego. We are excited to welcome a new Assistant Housekeeping Manager to our island-inspired resort.
In this vital role of Assistant Housekeeper Manager, you take pride in the quality assurance of the Housekeeping Department: all guest rooms and suites, public space and heart of the house. You manage inventory, cost control measures, and leadership of the housekeeping team members. For this position we are looking for candidates who are fluent in English and a second language is always a plus.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Maintain positive guest & team member relations at all times
2. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
3. Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
4. Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day
5. Maintain positive guest relations at all times; resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
6. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
The RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Min 2 years Housekeeping experience in hotel/resort management
- Strong Microsoft Office skills required (Word, Excel, Publisher, etc.)
- Must he able to life at least 50 lbs. and stand uninterrupted for long periods of time
- Good communication skills. Positive attitude, strong team player, and interdepartmental collaborator
- Exceptional guest service and recovery skills
- Must have open/full availability, including holidays and weekends
- Very "Hand's On" position
- Must have strong problem solving skills
- Must be able to recognize areas of improvement, develop strategies/procedures to improve, get buy in from other departments and associates, and execute solutions
- Attention to details, willing to work alongside the team and lead by example
- Maintain a positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with peers, associates, guests ad upper management
