Position Function:

Works closely with the assigned Private Banking Officer to manage and expand a portfolio of high-value clients, ensuring adherence to established lending and operational policies to maximize profitability while minimizing risk. Assists in maintaining comprehensive client records and acts as a liaison throughout the bank to facilitate the delivery of financial products and services. This includes cross-marketing a full range of banking, trust, and investment services.

Provides direct banking and operational support for clients, handling initial reception, prospecting, information gathering, analysis, profiling, documentation, closing, follow-up service, and various reporting requirements. Preferably experienced with loan documentation, rules, and regulations.

This role requires frequent interaction with high-value clients of the Bank, making it essential for the candidate to be a self-starter and a team player. Works collaboratively with the PB Officer in sales and portfolio management, either jointly, as backup, or in a supporting capacity.

Additionally, this position may involve handling incoming calls and emails from internal and external customers according to established Call Center standards, ensuring professional communication and appropriate follow-up actions. Focuses on supporting PB officers in tasks such as opening new accounts, processing CD renewals, issuing cashier's checks, preparing wire transactions, and assisting with loan applications.

This role also involves discussing and interacting with customers to support the International Banking Officer in sales and service functions.

Primary Accountabilities:

Total Team Loan & Deposit Portfolio Growth:

  • Assist the assigned Private Banking team in maintaining, expanding, and servicing deposit relationships for existing high-value clientele.
  • Respond to inquiries from new clientele under supervision.
  • Assist with loan requests from initiation to closing, including prospecting, information gathering, analysis, profiling, closing, and portfolio management.
  • Ensure timely processing of upcoming renewals and deposits, withdrawals, wire transfers, checks, follow up, and other transactions (approving checks, processing of wires, travelers checks, cashiers checks, foreign currency requests; assists in monitoring of overdrafts).
  • Conduct audits of deposit, loan, and related product documentation.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies for the client base.
  • Serve as a backup for administrative duties assigned by the Team Leader or Service Manager.
  • Assist in special projects and miscellaneous responsibilities (See Position Function).

Loan & Deposit Servicing, Quality Control & Compliance:

  • Liaise between clients, officers, and bank departments to resolve inquiries and issues promptly.
  • Update missing or incomplete reports promptly.
  • Support relationship officers with administrative tasks.
  • Contribute to achieving satisfactory audit ratings.
  • Responds reactively and proactively to all financial needs, expanding client profitability and generating new revenues throughout the sale of credit, deposit, trust, and investment products and services.

Responsible to maintain and manage customer information database and financial profiles of customers to assist selling efforts and provide management reports that develop customer leads and marketing programs.

Business Growth:

  • Generate referrals for banking products and services.
  • Refers clients to other specialists throughout the company, as appropriate. Seeks referrals from existing clients and outside professional relationships. Represents the Bank in civic and community events with emphasis on CRA qualifying activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

H.S. Diploma or GED equivalency

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent work experience required

Experience:

2+ years in commercial and retail loan and deposit servicing or underwriting experience required. (a Bachelor’s degree in relevant field may substitute for 2 years of experience).

Licenses & Certifications

Registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) is required prior to performing any duties of a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) required.

Notary Republic certification required within 30 days of hire.


Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to perform light physical work and to move or lift items including but not limited to boxes, files and papers up to 20 pounds unless otherwise as indicated.
  • Must be able to operate and proficiently use standard office equipment, including phone, copier, personal computer and/or other work related mechanical or electronic devices and applications.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with all internal and external customers. Must also be able to hear sufficiently to engage in daily discussions and interactions.
  • Must be able to read and understand bank-related documents.
  • Must be able to work in a conventional office setting, involving sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods of time. Must also be able to adapt to different work environments as needed to perform the job.
