Job Description

As a valued colleague on our team, you will help define the direction of the company’s social impact strategy. You will be responsible for working with teams across the single and multifamily businesses to set and deliver against goals on housing stability and affordable housing. You will be part of an organization that is dedicated to delivering positive mission and community outcomes to serve homeowners and tenants. In this role, you will help the business’ efforts to link their own strategic objectives to our overarching goal of meeting the nation’s affordable housing needs. 

THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE
The Environmental, Social and Governance - Portfolio Management - Advisor role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities: 

  • Design systematic approach to collecting and reporting on project or operation data.  

  • Review and analyze data collected by the team. 

  •  Recommend objectives of projects or products. 

  •  Review performance of product or project teams.  

  • Refine goals, guidelines, objectives, and timelines for teams as needed.

  • Work collaboratively across single family and multifamily business units to design and implement strategies that improve access to affordable housing and improve housing stability. 

  • Review performance of product or project teams.

  • Facilitate strategy and impact assessment processes with multiple teams, create work plans with business units to execute against the strategy and monitor progress and challenges. 

  • Measure and describe the impact of initiatives to senior leadership, the Board of Directors, and the Federal Housing Finance Agency. 

  • Communicate concepts and project progress in written reports to executive audiences. 

  • Represent Fannie Mae with key external stakeholders. 

 

Qualifications

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Minimum Required Experiences 

  • 6 years of experience 

  • Demonstrated mortgage business experience developing single family products or managing loss mitigation strategies in pursuit of increased resilience. 

  • Active engagement with housing practitioners (local, state, or federal) to deliver affordable housing solutions and knowledge of emerging best practices and policy trends in the field.  

  • Experience conducting research to identify obstacles and collaborating across departments to develop and implement solutions. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Proven ability to present information and ideas to audiences in a compelling way that is engaging and easy to understand. 

  • Demonstrated relationship management and influencing skills with the ability to manage and engage stakeholders and build relationship networks.   

Desired Experiences or Skills 

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent 

  • Familiarity with Excel, Tableau, SharePoint or Power BI is beneficial 

  • Experience selecting strategic options and identifying resources to meet the defined objectives 

  • Adept at managing project plans, resources, and people to ensure successful project completion 

  • Skilled at leveraging quantitative data to understand problems, inform solutions and measure progress
