The George Washington University is seeking a distinguished scholar to fill the Lynn R. Goldman Endowed Professorship in Environmental and Community Health. This is a full-time, tenured faculty position that requires a world-class public health expert with a focus on environmental justice and health equity.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research in environmental health, with a focus on social and environmental determinants of health and community mobilization and advocacy.
- Teach and mentor students in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health and the Department of Prevention and Community Health.
- Develop and maintain an independently funded research program, with a focus on extramural research funding and publishing in the peer-reviewed literature.
- Engage diverse community voices and partnerships in public health research and practice.
- Must be tenure-eligible at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.
- Must have demonstrated success in obtaining extramural research funding, publishing in the peer-reviewed literature, teaching and mentoring students, and engaging diverse community voices and partnerships in public health research and practice.
- Experience in geospatial analysis, participatory mapping, measurement and interpretation of biomarkers of adverse environmental and/or social impacts, and/or advanced modeling and simulation.
- Interdisciplinary research approaches and experience working with government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and international organizations.
- A competitive salary range of $190,000 - $400,000.
