1:1 Arts Mentoring Coordinator


Leaders of Tomorrow Youth Center (LTYC) in Baltimore, MD, US, is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Arts Mentoring Coordinator to join our passionate team. Compensation:

$30 - $35 yearly

Responsibilities:
  • Develop personalized arts mentoring plans for individual youth participants.
  • Organize and oversee weekly 1:1 arts mentoring sessions.
  • Collaborate with local artists and arts organizations to provide diverse learning opportunities.
  • Evaluate the progress and growth of each youth participant through regular assessments.
  • Maintain detailed records and reports on each mentoring session and participant growth.
  • Recruitment of 1:1 Arts Mentors and 1:1 Arts Mentees.
  • Coordinate and conduct interviews for mentor candidates.
  • Monitor the 1:1 Arts Mentor referral process.
  • Match each mentor with a mentee and provide mentors with guidance and framework concerning what to work on with mentees.
  • Conduct meetings with DSS, DJS Staff, and external 1:1 Arts Mentoring partners, etc.
  • Monitor, support, and evaluate mentor/mentee relationships to determine if any changes must be made.
  • Review progress reports written by mentors.
  • Write reports about the success rates or failures of current programs.
  • Communication Skills: strong verbal and written skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, colleagues, and school administration.
  • Prior experience in establishing environments whereby creative art is explored, discovered, and observed.
  • A demonstrated track record of propelling student growth and mastery.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Fine Arts, Art Education, or Psychology.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with youth in an arts-related capacity.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate mentoring programs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and comfortable working with diverse populations.
