Outreach & Events Specialist

Families and Youth Innovation Plus is hiring a full-time Outreach & Events Specialist

The Outreach & Events Specialist organizes and facilitates events, activities, processes, and campaigns as assigned, working closely with a variety of internal and external teams to support organizational initiatives and build corporate and community relationships. This position is organized as part of our Communications & Media Team and reports directly to the Director of Business Development & Communications. This position is also responsible for the coordination and management of the organization's mascot program (Noe) and will be expected to fill in as Noe as needed or directed in addition to recruiting and managing volunteers for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend events after hours, including local and out-of-town events, as required
  • Offer support for other special events that may include non-revenue-generating events and donor
  • recognition events
  • Engage and coordinate with community partners and volunteers for events and other special projects
  • Work with the team to ensure that all events run smoothly and all guests are satisfied
  • Provide operational support in the development and execution of event projects
  • Coordinate the planning process for numerous events and occasions simultaneously
  • Coordinate the selection, training, and orientation of volunteers for various events
  • Maintain information in the event tracking database
  • Coordinate event logistics with vendors, agencies, and other partners
  • Responsible for coordinating and participating in the organization's mascot (Noe) efforts, including filling in as Noe when needed or as directed.
  • Complete and submit monthly and annual reports according to assigned deadlines.
  • Maintain and manage the organization's promotional and outreach supplies inventory, including ordering, coordinating the check-out library, and ensuring sufficient supply of needed materials and equipment.
  • As needed and assigned, capture social media content in either or both video and photo format.
  • As needed and assigned, assist in posting to the organization's social media platforms.
  • Develop and facilitate external and internal presentations that are utilized to promote the organization's programs, services, projects, initiatives, etc.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or Communications or a minimum of 2 years experience in any combination of outreach, community engagement, or promotions.
  • Formal experience in planning, coordinating, and executing large-scale community events that involve extensive internal and external collaboration and substantial budgets.Experience in developing and facilitating outreach and promotional activities and events, including presentations.
