LSI currently seeks a Migrant Services Coordinator to help lead refugee populations through our Immigrant and Refugee Community Services programs in Des Moines.
What You'll Do
The Migrant Services Coordinator oversees agency programming for Home Study and Post Release Services (HSPRS), Safe Release Services (SRS) and trafficking victim assistance programs (TVAP and Aspire). Supervises client services, including crisis intervention, case management services, and advocacy. The Coordinator will ensure that services are delivered within contract expectations and will maintain effective relationships with community partners and referral sources. Client services are provided within a 200-mile radius of the home office.
The Coordinator will provide direct service to clients as necessary, which may occur during normal business hours, after hours, or on weekends.

What You'll Need
Required: Master's degree in behavioral sciences, human services, social services, or related field with three years of relevant professional experience (i.e., case management, program supervision). Must read, write and speak English and Spanish fluently.
Preferred: Experience working with immigrant populations, Unaccompanied Children and their sponsors, and/or survivors of human trafficking. Knowledgeable about family preservation, kinship care, and/or general child welfare. Experience conducting Home Studies and writing professional, thorough assessment reports. Knowledge of local community social services. Proven record of supervisory experience preferred.
Additionally, the following competencies are also required:
- Maintains a valid driver's license and meets agency insurance coverage requirements. Primary classification.
- Must submit, prior to hire, to various background checks to verify there are no convictions of crimes, founded child abuse and elder abuse reports, or unacceptable driving records.
- Attends program trainings and conference calls.
- May serve as interpreter when language skills are applicable for case services.
- May include evening and weekend hours by appointment or assignment.
This position requires a valid driver's license, auto insurance, a good driving record and the ability to pass an extensive background check including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, Sex Offender registry and a criminal history check.
