Overview: The Human Resources Training and Development Specialist assists in the development, organization, implementation, management, and evaluation of training needs for the organization. This role supports organization-wide training and employee development initiatives, ensuring high-quality and accessible training that aligns with organizational goals.

Position: Human Resources Training and Development Specialist

Responsibilities:

  • Update and maintain the Standard Operating Procedures Manual.
  • Prepare, facilitate, monitor, evaluate, and document training activities.
  • Assess training needs for new and existing employees.
  • Develop and implement training programs and materials for various delivery types (instructor-led, eLearning, self-guided).
  • Establish OJT mentors and procedure reviewers.
  • Evaluate and improve course content and delivery.
  • Identify training needs and internal/external training programs.
  • Track and report training outcomes.
  • Manage the training budget and stay current with training design and methodology.
  • Assist with succession planning and provide excellent customer service.

Requirement Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate degree in human resources, business management, training, or related field (experience may substitute for education).
  • Experience: Minimum five years of training and analysis experience.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and PeopleSoft HCM. Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Licenses/Certificates: Valid Driver's License; must acquire a Virginia Driver's License within 60 days of hire.
  • Physical Demands: Office position with ability to lift up to 20 pounds, drive a vehicle, and perform follow-up tasks.

Additional Information:

  • Non-essential personnel classification. Position may require working after hours and inflexible deadlines.
