Summary
The Employee Relations Specialist is responsible for supporting the collection, organization, and management of employee-related documentation and records.
Key Responsibilities
Accommodations may be provided to assist individuals with disabilities in fulfilling essential job functions.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the intake and evaluation of employee grievances.
- Collect and analyze information pertaining to employee relations issues, including harassment claims and workplace concerns; notify the Director when further investigation is necessary.
- Support the administration of records related to terminations, leaves of absence, transfers, and promotions.
- Assist in executing surveys, interviews, and other research pertinent to human resource policies.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of laws and regulations governing labor relations and human resources.
- Help in the preparation of reports, plans, policies, and documentation related to EEO, affirmative action, organizational structures, labor agreements, and employee handbooks.
Supervisory Role
This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Requirements
While executing the duties of this role, the employee is expected to sit at a desk and utilize a computer for extended periods. The individual must be capable of lifting up to 15 pounds as needed.
Position Type and Work Hours
This is a full-time role. Specific working hours will be determined by the supervisor.
Travel Requirements
Occasional travel may be necessary.
Qualifications
- A minimum of three years of professional experience in human resources administration is required, with a preference for experience in employee relations.
- SHRM-CP certification is preferred.
Background Check and Security Clearance
The role requires the candidate to successfully pass a background check and drug screening as mandated for this position.
