Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced HRBP to join our team. The HRBP will serve as a trusted advisor to both employees and management, providing guidance and support on a wide range of HR matters. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively navigate complex challenges. The HRBP is also responsible for the day-to-day operations, activities and functions of the full employment life cycle: including recruitment, onboarding, retention, development, and offboarding for MN & WI staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic HR Planning: Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement HR strategies that align with company objectives and promote a positive work environment.
  2. HR Compliance: Remain current on relevant employment laws and regulations to ensure organizational compliance. Advise management on HR best practices and assist in developing policies and procedures to mitigate risk.
  3. Talent Acquisition and Management: Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, participate in recruitment efforts, and ensure the successful onboarding of new employees. Complete all required paperwork (DOT, non-DOT, company policies) and schedule pre-employment tests.
  4. Administration: Perform routine tasks including payroll support, compensation, benefits, leave, and occupational health and safety.
  5. HR Analytics and Reporting: Utilize HR data and metrics to identify trends, track key performance indicators, and inform decision-making. Generate regular reports and dashboards to communicate HR metrics and insights to stakeholders. Lead the expanded functionality of our HRIS, as we continue to move towards a paperless environment.
  6. Employee Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary actions. Act as a mediator to facilitate constructive communication and resolution.
  7. Performance Management: Implement and administer performance management processes, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and career development planning. Provide guidance and coaching to managers and employees to improve performance and foster professional growth.
  8. Employee Engagement and Retention: Develop and execute initiatives to enhance employee engagement, morale, and retention. Develop strategies to attract, retain, and develop top talent within the organization.
  9. Training and Development: Collaborate with department heads to assess training needs and develop comprehensive learning and development programs. Facilitate training sessions and workshops on topics such as leadership development, harassment prevention, diversity and inclusion, and conflict resolution.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field recommended.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in HR roles, working with Unions preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage complex employee relations issues and drive resolution.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think analytically and develop creative solutions to HR challenges.
  • Demonstrated experience in talent acquisition, performance management, and employee engagement.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
