What's the role?

Reporting to the Head of Finance & Controlling IQR US Product Centers, the Business Partner - Operations is responsible for analyzing and reporting the utilization and output for production as well as deriving accurate material overhead. Must assist in ensuring expense and output optimization by routinely monitoring the relevant KPIs. This person will also be responsible for managing and optimizing BOM costing and dealing with third party vendors to ensure the same. In addition, the person will also drive the working capital, warranty and CAPA related topics for the production center. Increasing visibility on corrective actions is a key activity for this position.

The Finance Business Partner - Operations will create both standardized & custom reports, conduct quantitative product & operations analysis, provide support for internal and assess future needs and data integrity. Develop standardized tools and business processes aimed at improving operational efficiency and drive warranty and CAPA related activities.
  • Leadership Support
  • Collaborate with assigned Leaders in the areas of IQR
  • Provide meaningful, actionable insights, advice, and recommendations on historic and the future financial performance to the Business' leadership.
  • Monitoring and reporting KPIs
  • Responsible for deriving utilization and production output
  • Responsible for deriving accurate material overhead and monitoring to ensure expense and output optimization
  • Responsible for monitoring and reporting KPIs to ensure efficient production and output
  • Create monthly reporting results package including key performance indicators
  • Ensuring optimized BOM costing
  • Responsible for managing BOM costing
  • Responsible for monitoring and ensuring optimized costing for third party materials and third-party vendor purchases
  • Should be comfortable challenging vendors
  • Monitoring production center working capital
  • Periodically review and monitor the working capital for the production center
  • Optimize working capital levels to ensure smooth production with minimal costs
  • Monthly reporting of working capital KPIs
  • Closing & Audit Responsibility
  • Support timely and accurate reporting to Zeiss corporate headquarters including establish and monitor corporate policies for budget and actuals
  • Support the financial auditors and ensure timely response on requests
  • Being a backup for the Senior Finance Business Partner - Product Center IQS
Key Metrics of the Position:
  • Monitoring and optimizing production related KPIs (utilization, output, overheads, efficiency, etc.)
  • Ensuring optimized BOM costing
  • Monitoring production center working capital
  • Drive and increase visibility on warranty and CAPA related investigations
Do you qualify?
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting or Finance. 5+ years of accounting related experience.
  • Strong ability to understand and optimize end to end processes while recommending improvements where applicable
  • High level of organizational skills for both information and process
  • Should be capable of challenging the business on difficult decisions - Feel comfortable challenging the norm and what is currently being done
  • Strong project management skills - ability to track and drive initiatives forward
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to see larger picture and think outside the box
  • Strong analytical capacity
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with people in various situations at all levels of the Corporation.

  • Skilled in use of Computer systems including Microsoft Excel and Word. Business Warehouse and SAP experience a plus.
