This full-time position is for the candidate that can deliver and foster the growth of NLR. Knowledge and background in the universal or hazardous waste recycling industry is required. We are in search of someone articulate, detail oriented, with the ability to think on their feet.

This is expected to expand our existing base and close new business opportunities with our ever-expanding product and service offering. In collaboration with senior management and the owners, the candidate will be responsible for forecasting, planning, implementing, and achieving specific annual sales objectives. To do so, the individual appointed to this position will lead and manage a group of Sales and Customer Service Specialist to develop, nurture, and maintain relationships with customers. At the same time expand through direct hire or previous relationships the Sales and Relationship team.


Job Responsibilities:


The ideal candidate will possess a “hunter’s” mentality and take responsibility for sourcing leads, identifying and securing customers, and negotiating and closing contracts related to managing a client's universal waste recycling program.


  • Work with senior management to develop goals, reports, and strategies for expanding business.
  • Establish new relationships with industry professionals to generate new business opportunities.
  • Manage, develop, and expand current client relationships regionally and nationally.
  • Generate new sales opportunities by cold calling, networking, and relationship referrals.
  • Identify and implement new environmental products and services.
  • Manage administrative requirements for interaction with clients such as vendor database entries; vendor certifications, marketing, and service registrations; agency specific applications, registrations, and certifications.
  • Participate in events such as trade shows and conferences for the purpose of marketing the company’s services.
  • Participate in company strategy planning, department budgeting, and revenue target development.
  • Negotiate and lead customer bids and pricing agreements, track and follow up on all "pending" bids and estimates with customers.
  • Assist and lead marketing/sales strategy (i.e. trade shows, advertising, etc.) to develop higher name recognition within our industry.
  • Utilize and expand NLR's CRM system, email campaigns, and on-line capabilities.
  • Implement "Best Practices" for lead generation, email campaigns, etc.
  • Participate in the proposal process for new projects and opportunities, including developing proposal documents and submission of completed proposals.
  • Identify, develop, and manage teaming relationships with key partners and subcontractors critical to the pursuit of specific clients or lines of business.
  • Attend site visits and pre-proposal conferences as necessary in the pursuit of business opportunities.
  • Work on-site at project locations as needed in support of the field services teams.
  • Coordinate with marketing to develop, maintain and implement necessary graphics, displays, brochures and other materials to support sales department.


Qualifications:


  • Five+ years of environmental / waste management industry experience.
  • Proven expertise as a sales executive or relevant role.
  • Proven history of delivering strong growth and/or sales results.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with a demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
  • Demonstrated capability of developing, implementing, and managing strategic plans for business development and coordinating strategies between marketing and sales departments.
  • Knowledge of Federal solicitation, proposal and contracting operations a plus.
  • Self-starter who can work independently.
  • Market knowledge.
  • Communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build rapport.
  • Time management and planning skills.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental, waste management and/or related services industry.
  • Outstanding client management skills.
  • Direct experience with industry client contracts.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • You must be able to work as a team player in a cross functional environment.
  • Personal integrity.
  • Ability to balance persuasion with professionalism.
  • Executive proficiency in MS Office and CRM software (e.g. ACT, Salesforce).
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office 365 Software and other platforms.


What's Needed?


  • Proven 5+ years of experience within environmental / waste management industry with emphasis on management and proven business management.
  • BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) or any of the related fields.
  • Strong communication and people skills. Ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Minimal Travel Required
