Position Summary

The Senior Vice President, Operations will be critical to the Company’s ability to deliver on its value proposition while simultaneously achieving maximum growth potential. This position is charged with strengthening the overarching operational structure and driving cross-functional, end-to-end processes to ensure a highly efficient, effective, and scalable operating infrastructure to support the Company’s continuous growth and mounting complexity. The SVP, Operations will partner with the CEO and the Company’s clinical leaders and collaborate with the rest of the executive team to successfully manage the growth and profitability of the business. The SVP, Operations will ensure strong controls, sound implementation of operational priorities and increasing discipline while at the same time, supporting an effective commercial company culture rooted in accountability and the highest level of clinical quality.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive market and site-level operational initiatives in partnership with program leaders in the field and the central executive and back-office teams to achieve key performance metrics in the budget. Continually monitor/analyze financial and operational KPIs to assess ongoing performance and institute people, process and infrastructure changes as necessary to drive target performance.
  • Work effectively and collaboratively with the CEO, Board, clinicians, and the rest of the executive team to execute the comprehensive strategic plan for operating in a growth environment including long- and short-term operating objectives and clear accountability metrics.
  • Work effectively with Promises Behavioral Health clinicians to ensure a positive working relationship and to maximize productivity, efficiency, patient satisfaction, and quality care.
  • Lead a culture of growth, supported by the continued development of appropriate infrastructure, processes and operational efficiencies to integrate ongoing acquisitions and
    de novo openings, maximize current financial performance, maintain the highest standard of quality and corporate integrity/compliance, and support the overall growth strategy.
  • Recruit, develop and retain key talent through coaching, training, and leadership development.
  • Partner with the team to evaluate key inorganic growth initiatives. Those will include assisting in evaluating and executing strategic acquisitions, leading acquisition integrations, and overseeing entry into new geographies.
  • Drive key organic growth initiatives, including scheduling optimization, new patient acquisition marketing, pricing strategy, and recruitment of new clinicians.
  • Progressively utilize technology to differentiate the patient experience as well as reduce administrative burdens at the practice level.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining a “best-in-class” operations team by adding world class talent while leveraging existing teams and infrastructure. Motivate teams with a focus on drivers and metrics.
  • Partner with headquarters on design of compensation programs for clinicians and non-clinician staff to appropriately align incentives with enterprise goals and ensure long-term talent retention.
  • Position himself/herself as a visible and accessible key leader of the company and clinicians by driving a culture of compliance, customer service, quality, accountability, and integrity.
  • Be a true Associate to each Promises Behavioral Health partner, acting in a respectful and collaborative manner to achieve success.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • Proven experience in successfully scaling a multi-site, multi-state healthcare services business.
  • Track record of EBITDA growth and margin improvement in a complex, decentralized healthcare services environment.
  • Proven experience driving a metrics-driven culture-rooted in accountability, creating a highly scalable infrastructure, implementing “best-in-class” operational structure, driving cross-functional integration, and efficiencies, and ensuring the highest quality customer care programs.
  • Concrete examples of recruiting and retaining world-class teams. He/she will be a people-person who thrives on building great relationships.
  • Demonstrated financial competence, operational excellence, and exceptional, communication and customer service skills.
  • Exceptional people management and motivational skills and a track record of successfully leading and building motivated, high-performing teams.
  • A hands-on, direct approach to problem solving coupled with the ability to listen to and involve managers as needed to assure resolution.
  • Budgeting and financial experience including a thorough understanding of financial statements.
  • Strong customer service orientation and a proven track record of building strong relationships.
  • Strong executive presence and comfortable interfacing with members of the Board; an ability to present ideas and information in a credible manner that gets others attention.
  • An established reputation for high ethical standards, integrity, and excellent leadership skills.

Education

  • An undergraduate degree is required; MBA or other relevant advanced degree is preferred.
