The Event and Catering Manager takes pride and ownership of their work and positively reflects the Club’s highest service standards. It also requires a creative, energetic, highly organized, and detail-oriented individual. This position will work directly with the Director of Events, Director of Service, Executive Chef, and Director of Wine and Beverage to coordinate food, beverage, and service aspects for all member and club events.


General Position Responsibilities:

Support the Director of Events in selling private functions. This includes meeting with members and/or assistants to determine needs and exceeding their expectations through detailed communication with the members and their support staff.

Coordinate and oversee events according to the banquet event order, including directing event set-up, organizing vendors, welcoming guests, communicating with staff, and managing tear-down.


Assist with event-related duties, including staff assignments, valet scheduling, requesting necessary permits, ringing and closing checks on POS, and acting as closing supervisor.

Act as a liaison to the kitchen staff to ensure accurate timing and delivery of food to guests

Lead event pre-shift meetings and actively participate in the servicing of events or other club duties as needed to ensure a successful event.

Coordinate banquet event order (BEO) packets and attend weekly BEO meetings with managers to confirm all details have been addressed.

Collect and file signed contracts and Member Function Questionnaires from members hosting private events.

Performs other various duties as assigned by the Director of Events



Requirements:

Must have an enthusiasm for creating truly special events and the desire to meet the member’s needs first

Empowers employees to provide first-rate customer service and strives to improve event services continually

Must have experience in the sales process and function of club/catering operations or other relevant experience

Must have practical knowledge of food preparation and service as well as social customs of etiquette, especially regarding private events

Technical Requirements:

Must be willing to learn and effectively use catering software programs and have proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Word)

Basic knowledge of audio-visual components is preferred but not required

Bachelor’s degree and/or a minimum of 3 years experience in private clubs or restaurants preferred

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk, or hear. The employee must use hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work is inside in an environmentally controlled environment. The noise level in the work environment is between moderate and loud in the production area.

The primary days of in-house operation are Monday through Friday. Extended hours, evenings, and the occasional weekend will be required as needed.
