Mid Cyber Security Policy Analyst

Connsci is seeking an experienced and dedicated Mid Cyber Security Policy Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 4-8 years of experience, with a strong focus on NIST standards and FISMA policy and standards. This role involves supporting the development and implementation of cybersecurity policies and standards for our federal clients, particularly within the Health and Human Services (HHS) and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) environments.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present cybersecurity policy materials and regulatory crosswalks to meet client policy deliverable needs.
- Support the development and maintenance of cybersecurity policy, standards, and guidance for federal clients.
- Contribute to the maintenance of federal policy pertaining to cybersecurity program governance, IT security operations, continuous monitoring, and risk management.
- Collaborate with senior analysts and cybersecurity leadership to design and implement policy strategies and programs.
- Utilize Jira and Confluence to track policy development tasks and collaborate with team members.
Basic Qualifications:
- At least 4 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on NIST standards and FISMA policy and standards.
- Proven experience interfacing with government clients and managing their expectations.
- Experience with Jira and Confluence for collaboration and project tracking.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field is a plus.
- Security+ (Sec+) or Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) certification, or willingness to achieve certification within the first six months of employment.
- Experience with HHS/CMS is a plus
Location: This position can be performed on a remote basis but there may be occasional on site team meetings, so preference will be given to candidates located in the DC Metro region.
