Connsci is in search of a skilled and committed Intermediate Cybersecurity Policy Specialist to enhance our team. The successful candidate will possess 4-8 years of relevant experience, emphasizing NIST standards and FISMA regulations. This position entails assisting in the formulation and execution of cybersecurity policies and standards for our federal clientele, particularly within the Health and Human Services (HHS) and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver cybersecurity policy documentation and regulatory comparisons to fulfill client policy requirements.
  • Assist in the creation and upkeep of cybersecurity policies, standards, and guidance for federal clients.
  • Support the ongoing management of federal policies related to cybersecurity program governance, IT security operations, continuous monitoring, and risk management.
  • Work collaboratively with senior analysts and cybersecurity leadership to devise and implement policy strategies and initiatives.
  • Employ Jira and Confluence to monitor policy development tasks and engage with team members.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a concentration on NIST standards and FISMA regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience in liaising with government clients and managing their expectations effectively.
  • Familiarity with Jira and Confluence for team collaboration and project management.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related discipline is advantageous.
  • Possession of Security+ (Sec+) or Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) certification, or a commitment to obtain certification within the first six months of employment.
  • Experience with HHS/CMS is a plus.

Work Environment: This role can be performed remotely, although there may be occasional team meetings that require in-person attendance.
