Job Summary:

The Human Resources Manager provides strategic Human Resource leadership and partnership at Mill Road Dairy. The individual partners with site leadership teams in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating HR activities. Leads efforts related to positive employee relations and takes a proactive role in shaping the plant environment to encourage continuous improvement and driving world-class results in cost, quality, service and people.


Minimum Required Qualifications:

The minimum required qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Minimum 2 years with solid leadership, communication skills (in both small and large groups) and ability to influence, lead, and drive change in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Ability to engage with employees of all levels in a manufacturing facility including “management by walking around.”
  • Leadership style and outgoing personality to build and sustain relationships at all levels in the organization, and courage to respectfully challenge others to make solid business and people decisions.
  • Proven experience with employee relations, employee engagement, improving policies and procedures
  • Experience in a non-unionized manufacturing environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal, written communication, presentation and facilitation skills. Intermediate knowledge of MS Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and demonstrates a sense of urgency in completing assignments.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
  • Human Resources certification (SPHR, PHR, SHRM) is preferred.
Requirements:

Essential Job Functions:

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

  • Leads initiatives to foster positive employee relations, an engaged workforce, a positive culture, and effective communication throughout the plant by working collaboratively with leaders and hourly employees.
  • Owns the development, application, and interpretation of policies and practices and ensures compliance with all applicable laws.
  • Provides effective guidance and coaching to Plant Leadership, relating to employee concerns, problems, and disciplinary action to comply with company policies.
  • Oversees the selection process of hourly workforce by site leadership to include screening,interviewing, assessing candidates, and recommending finalists.
  • Plans and coordinates new employee onboarding to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
  • Manage front-line HR operations support to employees, compensation support and communication, on-boarding/off-boarding, leave management & workers' compensation, benefits administration, HR data management, employee relations, immigration and reporting.
  • Implements diversity strategies and ensures recruiting strategies and sources are focused on achieving diversity goals and AAP actions.
  • Influences and implements company-wide programs related to performance management, talent and succession planning, and career development.
  • Develops learning and development strategy to include analyzing needs, delivering training, securing training resources, and analyzing results.
  • Provides work direction to both exempt and non-exempt positions and provides leadership and guidance on day-to-day work.
  • Participate in and implement systems related to human capital; such as HRIS, time & attendance systems, ERP, applicant tracking, recruiting, performance management, learning management systems
  • Review, interpret, administer and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, and company policies and procedures collaborating with Employee Relations and legal on any agency charge responses.

May be responsible for special projects related to other functional areas and other related duties as assigned.
