The Fund Accountant is responsible for managing and reporting on the financial activities of investment funds. This role involves maintaining accurate records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The Fund Accountant will work closely with fund managers, auditors, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation and accurate reporting of fund activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports for investment funds.
  • Calculate the Net Asset Value (NAV) of funds, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Reconcile transactions, including trades, cash movements, and other financial activities.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during audits and ensure timely resolution of any issues.
  • Monitor and record fund expenses, including management fees, performance fees, and other costs.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax reports and filings, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
  • Prepare and distribute reports to investors, including periodic performance updates and financial statements.
  • Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and systems.
  • Provide support for special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience in fund accounting, financial reporting, or a similar role within the investment management industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools. Experience with investment management systems is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly.
  • Familiarity with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements related to investment funds.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism in handling sensitive financial information.
