- Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the sales department
- Attend manager meetings
- Assist the general sales manager in forecasting controllable expense elements for the sales department
- Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect sales
- Hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all sales employees
- Direct and schedule the activities of all department employees
- Oversee the efforts of salespeople to enhance the image and customer satisfaction ratings of the dealership
- Communicate with salespeople to ensure that dealership policies and procedures are understood and followed
- Set sales and gross objectives
- Guide salespeople in setting their objectives on a short and long range basis
- Review each salesperson's performance as shown on the daily sales operating control
- Assist in developing programs of improvement for salespeople who are failing to reach their objectives
- Recommend for dismissal any salesperson failing to meet company standards
- Conduct sales training meetings
- Work with salespeople on programs that will increase the gross and increase F&I penetration
- At least three years of sales experience
- A minimum of one year of finance experience is preferred
- Supervisory experience is a plus
- VinSolutions experience is preferred
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
- Professional personal appearance
- Excellent communication skills
- True leadership abilities
- Valid Illinois driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Hours
- Monday through Saturday from 8:00 am until close
- Off on Tuesdays
