Responsibilities
  • Forecast goals and objectives for the department 
  • Strive for harmony and teamwork with all other departments
  • Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the sales department
  • Attend manager meetings
  • Assist the general sales manager in forecasting controllable expense elements for the sales department
  • Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect sales
  • Hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all sales employees
  • Direct and schedule the activities of all department employees
  • Oversee the efforts of salespeople to enhance the image and customer satisfaction ratings of the dealership
  • Communicate with salespeople to ensure that dealership policies and procedures are understood and followed
  • Set sales and gross objectives
  • Guide salespeople in setting their objectives on a short and long range basis
  • Review each salesperson's performance as shown on the daily sales operating control
  • Assist in developing programs of improvement for salespeople who are failing to reach their objectives
  • Recommend for dismissal any salesperson failing to meet company standards
  • Conduct sales training meetings
  • Work with salespeople on programs that will increase the gross and increase F&I penetration

Qualifications
  • At least three years of sales experience
  • A minimum of one year of finance experience is preferred
  • Supervisory experience is a plus
  • VinSolutions experience is preferred
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
  • Professional personal appearance
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • True leadership abilities
  • Valid Illinois driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Hours

  • Monday through Saturday from 8:00 am until close
  • Off on Tuesdays
