Job Summary:

ENTEK is seeking a skilled and proactive Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT Infrastructure team on-site in Lebanon, Oregon.

As an Network Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency of computer networks for users by ensuring the integrity and security of a highly available network infrastructure. Network Engineer will conduct thorough analyses and testing of network performance, oversee new installations or enhancements, and look for ways to improve the network infrastructure. Additionally, the Network Engineer is expected to provide coaching and mentorship, assist in resolving issues across local and wide area networks. This pivotal role includes configuring, operating, and administering network server hardware, operating systems, and communication links with precision.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and optimize complex global network infrastructures including LANs, WANs, VPNs, SD-WAN, and VOIP systems.
  • Monitor and analyze network performance metrics, proactively identifying and resolving congestion, latency, and availability issues.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting for escalated network problems, lead root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain documentation of network configurations and operational procedures, manage network changes through structured processes.
  • Evaluate network technology vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships to ensure SLAs are met.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in global network projects like data center migrations, upgrades, and cloud connectivity initiatives.
  • Provide remote support to on-site engineers and end users/customers during installation.
  • Assess network performance and operational risks, implement proactive measures, and participate in disaster recovery planning.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear; is occasionally required to stand, walk, or sit for extended lengths of time; and requires specific vision abilities including close, color, and focusing. The job may required climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, couching, crawling, reaching, handling, finger dexterity. The incumbent will regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. A high school diploma, GED and/or equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
  • Minimum Five (5) years' experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-scale networks.
  • Minimum Three (3) years' hands-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Proficiency in network protocols, technologies (wifi and VLAN configuration), and standards (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, DNS, DHCP).
  • Experience with multiple technologies, including Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, Aruba, and Dell (Network) technology.
  • Experience with design, implementing and supporting a globally distributed network environment.
  • Knowledgeable in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Java).
  • Expertise in network practices and troubleshooting complex network issues.
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
  • Experience with systems infrastructure and management tools.
  • Industry certifications such as CCNP, JNCIS, or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • Knowledge of SDN, network virtualization, and cloud networking.
  • Knowledge of Configuration Management practices (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework and best practices.
  • Customer-focused mindset, with demonstrated skill in managing expectations, providing proactive status updates, and producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a distributed team in multiple time zones.
  • Ability to travel domestically and globally when needed.
