Job Title: Payroll Assistant - Part-time

Division: Corporate

Reports To: Payroll Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt   

 

Overall Responsibility:

The Payroll Assistant will assist with processing weekly payroll transactions within a fast-paced and growing organization. The Payroll Assistant will work closely with various departments and provide support to ensure timely and accurate payment of employee wages.

 

Payroll Responsibilities:

  • Assists with collection and verification of employee timekeeping data.
  • Ensures accuracy of data between the timekeeping and ERP systems.
  • Processes payroll (data entry/file upload) in ERP system.
  • Completes necessary tasks and reports for certified payroll.
  • Ensures accuracy of federal and state certified payroll.
  • Maintains accurate employee records and payroll transactions.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

 

  • Efficiently assist with payroll tasks and strictly follow company policies and legal regulations.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state certified payroll reporting.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Assist employees with any inquiries and promptly resolve any issues related to payroll in a professional manner.
  • Provide support in the completion of payroll related audits.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information and payroll records at all times.
  • Assist with Standard Operating Procedures for the payroll department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Requirements:


  • High school diploma required.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in payroll, preference in Construction payroll.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance.
