About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled and versatile Human Resources Business Partner, with the ability and desire to pivot between different areas of focus based on organizational needs.
You'll be a key player in our HR team, collaborating with managers and employees to drive positive changes, support our workplace culture, and advance our organizational objectives. From recruiting top talent to fostering a positive work environment, you'll be actively engaged in all aspects of HR.
What You'll Be Doing
- Recruitment and Onboarding: Lead the hiring process from start to finish, partner with managers to find the right candidates, and use creative strategies to build a diverse talent pool.
- Employee Experience: Boost employee engagement through surveys, feedback sessions, and fun company events. Be the go-to person for resolving any employee concerns.
- Performance Management: Support managers with performance improvement plans, provide training, and help employees grow in their careers.
- HR Compliance: Keep our policies and procedures up-to-date and ensure we're following all employment laws. Conduct regular audits and provide guidance on best practices.
- Building Relationships: Create strong bonds with managers, employees, and external partners. Make sure communication flows smoothly within the organization.
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI): Lead DEI initiatives, develop inclusive programs, and stay updated on the latest DEI trends and practices.
What We're Looking For
- 6+ years of HR experience in roles like HR generalist, business partner, or specialist.
- Hands-on experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and HRIS/ATS administration.
- Solid knowledge of employment laws.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Great communication skills and emotional intelligence.
- A passion for creating an inclusive workplace.
Bonus Points
- Experience with DEI programs.
- Familiarity with Fuse HRIS or similar systems.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification.
- Experience in the non-profit sector and working with multi-state organizations.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by underrepresented groups in the workplace.
Work Environment
Hybrid work setup (flexibility between home and our headquarters located in downtown Santa Cruz. 1-2 days per week, in office)
