Overview:


Responsible for the proactive evaluation, investigation and timely collection of outstanding accounts receivables. Manages low to high level customer accounts as defined by sales volume, credit exposure, risk and/ or other factor(s).


Essential Duties:


  • Proactively manage assigned accounts through the invoice to cash cycle to include collections, billing dispute identification and resolution. Maintain meticulous notes and comments via various tracking systems.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for internal and external inquiries, requests and issues related to accounts receivable, credit approval and Coop membership.
  • Gather pertinent credit information to perform credit reviews for new and existing customers. Provide information to Credit Manager for credit approval.
  • Drive desired customer payment behavior through visits, calls, reports, and other forms of timely and insightful contact with customers. He/she also employs collection technique and negotiation to maximize cash flow and create a favorable financial relationship and customer experience.
  • Collaborate internally with Sales, Supply Chain, etc. to respond to customer related inquiries. Participate in negotiations and contribute to cross-functional, end-to-end solutions to improve cashflow and the customer experience.
  • Create and update customer accounts and manage customer master dataset.
  • Identify/execute opportunities for process improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Serve as periodic backup for front desk. Answer main phone line and greet customers in a personalized, friendly, and inviting manner.


Education:


  • 2-year Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance required. Bachelor's degree preferred.


Experience:


  • Minimum two (2) years in Finance, Accounts Receivable, Accounting or related industry experience is required.
  • Previous experience in the Agriculture, Energy and/or Retail industry preferred.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Previous collection experience required. Knowledge of Agriculture, Feed, Energy and/or Retail industry desired.
  • Microsoft Office – Intermediate skill level is required. (For example, candidate must have proficiency to utilize excel charts, pivot tables and v-lookup)
  • Strong negotiation skills required.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks of varying priorities and function in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Professional conduct and utmost discretion are a must.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and integrate learning.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Strong focus on detail and accuracy of work.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to organize and manage a variety of projects with deadlines.
  • Ability to function independently where appropriate but to recognize when issues escalate and need to be referred to other resources.
